ISKCON Temple Vizag
The ISKCON Temple stands as an iconic landmark, globally renowned for its rich history, cultural significance, and spiritual allure. With its splendid architecture and serene ambiance, it offers a sanctuary away from the bustle of everyday life.
Nestled in Visakhapatnam, the ISKCON Temple beckons devotees and tourists alike, promising a divine experience in the embrace of Radha Krishna's love.
The temple, a symbol of devotion to Lord Krishna, embodies tranquility and unity, welcoming people of all faiths to partake in its spiritual journey.
Its inception is a tale of determination and faith. In 1999, Mr. Samba Das and Nitaisevini Dasi embarked on a mission, guided by their guru's teachings, to establish a haven for Krishna devotees. Despite humble beginnings, their unwavering resolve led them to acquire land in Sagar Nagar, Visakhapatnam.
Though faced with challenges, including initial government reluctance due to the site's coastal location, the couple persisted. Amidst adversity, they erected a temporary hall, embracing the idols of Jagannath, Subhadra, Baladeva, and Shri Radha Damodar Ji.
The temple endured a severe test of resilience during Cyclone Hudhud in 2014, sustaining damage alongside the city. Yet, from the wreckage emerged a unified community, determined to rebuild. By January 2015, the temple stood rejuvenated, symbolizing strength amidst adversity.
Subsequently, government approval was granted for the construction of a grand complex by the seaside, leading to the inception of the "Glory of Andhra" temple project in March 2015. Completed in February 2018, it stands as a testament to faith's triumph over tribulation.
Spanning 67,000 square feet, the ISKCON Temple boasts a simple yet captivating architectural design. Its diverse offerings include :
