Tenneti Beach Park Vizag

Located along the Beach Road in Jodugullapalem, Visakhapatnam, Vuda Tenneti Beach Park offers an urban oasis overlooking the Bay of Bengal. Recently refurbished for tourism, this park has undergone extensive renovation after being ravaged by cyclone Hudhud. Thanks to a generous donation of approximately 60 lakh rupees from the Gitam Alumni of North America, the park now boasts international standards and has restored the lush greenery along its coastline to its former splendor. Not only is it recognized as the city's premier children's park, but it also holds the distinction of being one of Visakhapatnam's oldest parks.

Named after Tenetti Viswanadham, a revered political figure and freedom fighter of Visakhapatnam, the park features a statue in his honor at the entrance gate. Beyond the quaint yellow gate lies a sprawling expanse dotted with pathways leading toward the sea. A prominent circular rock structure enhances the park's allure, while a flight of stairs descends directly to the beach, offering breathtaking views of sunsets and powerful waves.

Tenneti Beach Park has served as a backdrop for numerous Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Oriya film shoots, celebrated for its pristine beauty nestled between mountains and the sea. Photographers flock here to capture stunning landscape shots amidst the natural splendor.

Visitors can indulge in various activities within the park, from admiring the crystal-clear waters of the sea to marveling at the verdant foliage and surrounding mountains. Adjacent to the park are the Kailasagiri Hills, ideal for leisurely toy train rides amidst picturesque landscapes and forests.

The winter season, characterized by milder weather, is the optimal time to visit, while evenings during summer offer relief from the heat with cool sea breezes.

Nearby attractions include Sivaji Park, renowned for its fountains and benches, the historic Visakhapatnam lighthouse, and the popular Ramakrishna Beach, offering opportunities for swimming, relaxation, and exploration. For those interested in maritime history, the INS Kursura Submarine Museum and Visakha Museum provide intriguing insights.

Visakhapatnam is easily accessible by air, rail, road, or waterway. The Visakhapatnam International Airport connects the city to major Indian cities and Southeast Asian destinations. Visitors can also reach the city via the well-connected Visakhapatnam Railway Station or by road, with the park located near a national highway.
